Abstract
This study generated a multi-omic atlas of the human yolk sac (3–8 weeks post-conception) using single-cell gene/protein data. It revealed that the yolk sac not only supports early haematopoiesis but also contributes to metabolism, coagulation and vascular development, and seeds macrophages into organs via an accelerated pathway.
